An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor on a project in Hemel Hempstead. The Quantity Surveyor will become a key member of the team delivering a £30m refurbishment programme to a logistics hub in the local area. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to put their own stamp on a project whilst working for an award winning employer with a strong pipeline of future projects and plenty of opportunities for rapid career progression.
Working closely with the SQS, the Quantity Surveyor will be based on site and involved with the project from day 1. Some of your key duties will include:
- Drafting and providing input to contract and subcontract negotiations
- Procurement of subcontractors and agreement of final accounts
- Managing commercial risks
- Build long lasting, trusting relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors
- Prepare & present monthly project cost value reconciliation
- Work with the Senior QS to implement a commercial strategy for each project
- Ensure compliance with the businesses year end
- Prepare applications for payment to maintain a strong cash position
- Provide commercial support to the project team
On offer is a generous salary & package that includes:
- Starting salary of £40,000 to £54,000
- Company car or car allowance of £5,500

Quantity Surveyors considering this opportunity will need:
- BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
- Experience using the JCT suite of contracts
- Excellent cost reporting skills
- Strong commercial acumen
- Excellent communication skills
- Live within a reasonable commute of the site in Hemel Hempstead
