An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor delivering a key phase of HS2 across the West Midlands. The role promises exposure to a variety of work including the construction of nearly 40 viaducts, more than 60 overbridges, 34km of embankments, motorway crossings, small tunnels and other structures across nearly 80km of planned work in the area.

As the Quantity Surveyor, you'll be joining a growing team and working on a £500m package of works that forms a key part of programme. Whilst working closely with the Senior Commercial Manager, you'll be tasked with overseeing the commercial management of bulk earthworks, constructing a number of structures including bridges & viaducts, utilities work and interfacing with a number of existing live rail and road assets. Some of your key duties will include:

• The preparation of internal cost value reports on a monthly basis
• The preparation of valuations and applications for payment
• Contract administration
• Management of large subcontract accounts and material procurement schedules
• Issuing early warning notices where required
• Change management
• Supporting the senior commercial team with the development of others within the team
• Working closely with the clients inhouse team
• Cost reporting

Quantity Surveyors considering this opportunity must have experience working for a large main contractor on civil engineering projects in the UK. You'll need to have a solid understanding of the NEC contract alongside first class communication skills and a drive to push your career forward.
