Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading cost and project management consultancy on site in London. The Quantity Surveyor will join an established organisation who work on a variety of projects across the civil and infrastructure sectors.
This is a great opportunity to work with a leading specialist consultancy within the construction industry whilst learning from an experienced team.
Duties
- Give advice to project management teams on financial matters and make sure projects follow the policies and rules.
- Support with the management on all change including proposed scope changes, recommending appropriate action in accordance with change control systems and produce all required documentation for approval in accordance with levels of delegated authority, including comparative estimates where required, in a timely manner.
- Keep track of project activities and review contractor work to including leading valuation of medium value/medium risk contracts and attending all progress meetings to actively influence contractor's commercial behaviours, delivery, and activity.
- Close out projects by making final settlements and reconciling accounts as per the project authority, project plan and within agreed timescales.
- Assist with finding contractors before and after projects.
- Support the negotiation of all prices under existing contracts/framework agreements (including the negotiation of target costs) and fully participate in the associated quantitative risk assessment and value management workshops, as required.
Requirements
- You will need to have a degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience
- Ideally membership of a relevant professional body with chartered status and/or educated to degree level.
- Experience working on civil or infrastructure projects.
- Understanding of project management, planning risk, and investment processes.
- Experience working on civil or infrastructure projects.
- Ability to instruct and be instructed by legal representatives as necessary.
- Able to undertake key Audit function and provide measured and considered findings.
- Experience of contractor's accounts
