Senior Frontend Engineer
Hybrid - London (1 day a week in office, Fridays)
Please note: We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role. Candidates must have existing right to work in the UK.
About the Role
We're a fast‑growing accounting‑technology startup building automation tools that eliminate the manual, repetitive work finance teams face every month. Our long‑term vision is bold: transform month‑end and make real‑time accounting a reality.
We're a small, experienced founding team with strong backgrounds in engineering, product, and finance. Over the past few years, we've built powerful early traction, received industry recognition, and secured backing from high‑quality investors. Now we're expanding our core engineering team.
As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you'll work directly with the CTO/CPTO and collaborate across the business to deliver high‑impact frontend features. Because our product sits deep within accounting workflows, prior experience with accounting technology is helpful - but not essential. Curiosity, a willingness to learn, and a pragmatic mindset matter more. You'll also have dedicated time and budget for your learning and development.
In this role, you'll have meaningful ownership and high visibility. You'll prototype rapidly to validate product ideas, and once validated, build scalable, well‑tested frontend systems. The ideal candidate will have the potential to grow into a Team Lead role, demonstrating they can help run the engineering team as we scale.
Tech Stack
You'll work primarily with:
- React
- TypeScript
- Tailwind CSS
- MobX (ideal but not required)
Experience with these tools is beneficial, but strong engineering judgement and a startup mindset are more important than checking every box.
About You
You're likely a great fit if:
- You're an experienced frontend engineer with startup experience;
- You bring a pragmatic, solution‑oriented approach to engineering;
- You're comfortable owning work from concept to delivery;
- You collaborate well but can also operate independently when needed;
- You're smart, resourceful, and a great team fit - the kind of person who can earn the CTO's trust and potentially grow into a Team Lead role;
- You've worked with MobX or in accounting/fintech (a bonus, not required).
The Details
- Salary: Up to £100k
- Share options from day one
- 25 days holiday, plus public holidays
- Personal learning & development budget
- Hybrid: 1 day per week in Central London (more during onboarding)
- Right to work in the UK is required - sponsorship is not available
