An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Senior Planning Engineer with a background in civil engineering to join a leading main contractor on an exciting major project based in Hertfordshire. will join a leading name in UK main contracting who are renowned for their expertise in delivering complex infrastructure projects.
The Senior Planning Engineer will join an established team that is responsible for the successful delivery of a multi-billion contract utilizing cutting edge technology and offering long term secured work in the region.
Utilizing your expertise in Primavera P6 software, you will develop comprehensive project schedules, monitor progress, and provide timely updates to ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget. You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders, contributing your technical insights to optimize project delivery and mitigate risks.
Duties
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 software, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project goals.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Identify critical paths, analyze potential risks and delays, and propose suitable mitigation strategies.
- Monitor project progress, identify deviations from planned schedules, and recommend corrective actions.
- Conduct regular project progress meetings, providing detailed reports and analysis to project teams and management.
Candidate
- Hold a construction related qualification - HND / HNC / Degree
- Extensive experience as a Planning Engineer within the construction industry, ideally with a focus on heavy civils projects.
- Good working knowledge of NEC form of contract
- Proven expertise in utilizing Primavera P6 software for project planning and scheduling.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project management principles, and contractual requirements.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify critical paths, risks, and opportunities for optimization.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, enabling collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, manage priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
