An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading infrastructure contractor in Birmingham. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be joining a busy and growing commercial team delivering a high profile heavy civil engineering project that includes the construction of a small tunnel, viaducts, earthworks, cuttings and embankments.
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will take on a pivotal role within the commercial team, taking responsibility for a large package of works that will include the construction of various assets across three major roads - the A45, M42 and M6. As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:
- Managing the overall expenditure on the project
- Administering subcontracts
- Minimising project costs
- Contributing to CVR's
- Managing change
- Identifying and mitigating project risks
- Act as a mentor to Assistant QS's and QS's
- Support the Commercial Manager where possible with the overall commercial management of the project
Senior Quantity Surveyors requirements include:
- BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or other construction related area
- Experience using NEC3
- UK Infrastructure experience
- Live within a reasonable commute of Birmingham
