An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team working on site at Gatwick Airport. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be joining a growing team who are overseeing projects valued from £500k to £2m on one of the Europe's busiest airports. These projects will include repairs to runways and taxiways, the installation of airfield lighting, stand re-configurations, drainage and flood prevention, winter resilience works and much more.
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be undertaking a key role within this busy team and responsible for:
- Leading the commercial function across a number of projects both within the existing frameworks and stand-alone projects
- Act as a focal point for all commercial activities across the projects
- Assist with the review of contractual documentation throughout the tender stage
- Checking and authorising subcontractor orders and payments
- Preparing and presenting monthly cost value reports
- Take a pro-active approach to dispute avoidance and management
- Act as a mentor and coach to the other surveyors within the team
- Provide the operations teams with all the necessary commercial support required
Senior Quantity Surveyors considering this opportunity will need to have previously worked for a UK based main contractor and have excellent communication skills. You'll need to live within a reasonable commute of Gatwick Airport and be happy to work on site 5 days a week.
