Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor (MEP)
Location: Reading
Package: Up to £75,000 + car
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with either an electrical or mechanical bias to join a leading main contractor in Reading. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be joining a business that has a solid reputation for delivering innovative, technically challenging and high quality projects across the UK abroad for both private & public sector clients.
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will quickly become an integral part of the site based team and taking responsibility for both the delivery of a various packages and the development of a small team. Some of the Senior Quantity Surveyors key duties will include:
- Lead the commercial management of mechanical or electrical packages
- Prepare and negotiate subcontractor and supplier contracts
- Cost analysis and budget management
- Ensure cost control and value management through the project lifecycle
- Prepare and submit valuations and final accounts
- Provide support and guidance to junior team members
Senior Quantity Surveyor's considering applying for this position will need to have:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
- MEP exeprience
- Experience as a Quantity Surveyor, either for a leading main contractor or a large specialist (M&E/Building Services) subcontractor
- Strong technical knowledge and experience in mechanical or electrical packages
- Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in relevant software and Microsoft Office
