6 Month Contract - Inside IR35

Brief

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Base Maintenance Engineer to join a highly successful and leading Aerospace organisation, based in Gatwick, to work in a varied and dynamic environment on a 6-month contract.

As a Base Maintenance Engineer, you will build close relationships with both enrolled Customers and Contracted MROs during the proposal development phase and oversee Base Maintenance inputs of aircraft.

Ideally the successful candidate will have a professional Aerospace/Engineering degree (or related aviation discipline) from a recognized university.

Role Responsibilities

Some of the main duties of the Base Maintenance Engineer will include:

  • Engage with relevant stakeholders to define estimated labour, materials and other associated cost drivers for definition in the interim/final proposal and total ROM/Contracted costs.

  • Establish statement of work and consolidated estimates for submission to Estimating for verification of commercial requirements, followed by Contracts for contract creation and finally to Sales.

  • Ensure MRO stakeholders are instructed to initiate the agreed plan. Re-confirm lead times, delivery dates, travel arrangements, access arrangements etc. Note any changes / issues for resolution / feedback to customer.

  • Oversight of Base Maintenance inputs from a commercial standpoint to ensure cost control.

  • Lead the on-site Repair and Maintenance team during Base Maintenance inputs towards a common goal including re-tasking all team members to prioritise key areas when required.

What experience you need to be the successful Base Maintenance Engineer:

  • EASA Part 66 B1 or B2 (or equivalent) Aircraft Maintenance Engineer's License.

  • Must have full working knowledge of EASA Part M and Part 145 regulations.

  • Experience in developing maintenance cost proposals, drafting and managing performance-based aircraft maintenance contracts.

  • The Base Maintenance Project and Liaison Engineer must be willing and able to spend time away from base upon request and at short notice.
