Location: Bristol, England Salary: £25000 - £29000 per annum + Excellent company benefits

Gold Group have a fantastic opportunity for a Software Engineer to join our client in Bristol.

Please note some domestic and occasional overseas travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To help develop, support and document the infrastructure that PMS relies on.
  • To work on all aspects of PMS automation for electrical, propulsion, ancillary (fluid) and auxiliary systems on naval and commercial platforms
  • To develop graphical interfaces, control sequences and configurable software components
  • To participate in the full software lifecycle for control systems software
  • To use both standard tools and proprietary software packages under the direction of senior software engineers
  • To produce and maintain software documentation ensuring full traceability of the software throughout the lifecycle
  • To participate in the full software lifecycle for control systems software adhering to company process and procedure
  • Participate in reviews of software code, documentation and contractual internal/external design reviews.
  • To agree jointly with the Software & Integration Manager or delegated representative allocated tasks and timescales in accordance with company standards

Knowledge, Skills And Experience:

  • Degree or diploma in Engineering related discipline
  • Familiarity with software programming preferred
  • Experience with Object Oriented Programming (bonus)
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent PC skills for documents, spreadsheets and databases
  • Eagerness to learn and interest in all aspects of automation system development
  • Good reporting and communication skills
