Software Safety Engineer.
Salary DOE
Wiltshire / Hampshire + Home based flexibility.
UK SC Clearance is a pre-requisite for this position. UK Passport Holders only.
As the Demand within this clients Software Safety area grows we are looking to further expand the Software Assurance team. In this position you will be supporting software delivery across multiple projects and different locations in the UK.
You will be part of a team that provides an Independent Technical Assessment of software on safety critical/related aircraft systems and you will provide advice on airworthiness issues related to those systems.
Working on the most modern military platforms, you will lead the assessment of third-party software and software documentation for adequate Safety and conformance to industry standards.
Within this technically challenging role, you will apply military and/or civil standards for Software Safety (including Def Stan 00-56, Def Stan 00-55, DO-178B and DO-178C) to provide accurate and trusted technical assurance to the wider group.
The Person:
We are looking for an experienced Technical Assessor or possibly someone looking to move into this field of Software Safety Assurance with a software engineering and defence or aviation background.
Your strong communication skills will enable you to construct and convey logical arguments effectively whilst your analytical skills will allow you to analyse in a pragmatic and effective way.
This is a varied and challenging role that will require the successful candidate to deliver results against defined deadlines and show pragmatism in the judgement of software integrity and the determination of an adequate level of evidence.
