UK Based / Fully Remote Role
A rare opportunity has arisen for a Charterd STE2 Examining Engineer to join the civil engineering arm of one of the UK's leading main contractors. The Chartered STE2 Examining Engineer will be joining a busy and growing team that works closely with Network Rail and the Department for Transport and oversees the maintenance of thousands of disused assets across the country. A majority of these assets will include bridges, tunnels and viaducts but work on warehouses, storage facilities and other buildings will also be covered.
Some of the Chartered STE2 Examining Engineer's duties will include:
- Reviewing site reports prepared by structural engineers and examiners and checking they comply to the required standards and specifications
- Determine the maintenance and repair requirements
- Presenting recommendations to the client
- Prepare programmes and manage the contractors on site
- Review completed works
- Assist and, where required, lead on site examinations
Candidates will be required to come from a Chartered Civil or Structural Engineering background with previous experience of managing delivery of structures examinations, maintenance or asset management within the rail sector. Excellent communication skills and a strong commercial understanding are also both essential for this role.
