Supply Planner

Gatwick (hybrid working available)

Brief

Supply Planner or Supply Chain Planner needed for a global medical device organisation based in Gatwick who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Supply Planner that takes pride in their work. If you're naturally adept at logical and analytical thinking and have experience working in the supply chain industry with knowledge and understanding of how inventory impacts finance, service levels, lead times, logistics and transportation then we'd love to hear from you!

The successful candidate would desirably have a relevant degree - i.e. Business, Logistics or Supply Chain Management or other relevant qualifications.

What the role entails:

Some of the main duties of the Supply Planner will include:

As a supply planner you will be responsible for optimising product availability and working capital through effective management of suppliers, and working productively with various stakeholders within the supply chain management and service organisation to effectively apply best practices and ensure suppliers are adhering to deliveries and demand requirements.

Order book management

  • Active management of purchase orders and distribution orders from product supply centers or suppliers to the point of delivery.
  • Pro-active expediting of requirement to maximise stock availability within the global platform.
  • Generate & update daily/weekly reporting & identify trends requiring action.
  • Communicate and escalate supply risk to minimise global service impact.
  • Accurately compose and publish key performance metrics for global audience.

Supplier Management

  • Time resolution of all invoice queries.
  • Acts as supplier lead for product availability at global distribution centres.
  • Fully responsible for ensuring the correct stock requirements are conveyed to relevant suppliers at product level, taking due consideration of lead-time and other factors.
  • Communicate forward plan to minimise disruptions to future supply.
  • Work with existing supply base to improve delivery accuracy versus lead time.
  • Ensure customer service levels are met for daily customer orders, alongside logistics & customer service levels.
  • Ensure supply chain is able to cope with unforeseen demand peaks for service parts.

Purchasing & Planning

  • Work closely with the demand planning team to reduce supply chain risks.
  • Reduce and maintain inventory levels for the group at global distribution centre.
  • Raise and manage all purchase orders for key sites.
  • Close liaison with suppliers, demand planners & procurement team.
  • Attend relevant purchasing forums to represent spares and communicate back on initiative that affects planning function.
  • Escalate any supplier issues and actively work with the buyer to resolve.

Inventory Control & Case Management

  • Inventory and obsolescence management.
  • NON FRU request management and requisition.
  • CLM case management.
  • Quarantine Inventory Management.

Engineering Change Management & Process Control

  • Maintaining all designated process maps, work instructions and documents relevant to the job.
  • Data review and data integrity maintenance.

What experience you need to be the successful Supply Planner:

  • Previous experience in a similar position
  • Commercially aware - familiar with managing inventory supply chain dynamics and best practice
  • Be able to work effectively with high levels of autonomy
  • Analytical approach to work & experience with identifying areas for improvement
  • Conversant with MRP/ERP replenishment systems (ideally INFORM Add*ONE)
  • Computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Results oriented and self-directed individual with the ability to work independently
  • Experience in supply planning, material planning or purchase order management
  • Have excellent relationship management & influencing
  • Have experience or interest in managing suppliers
  • You should have previous planning experience in manufacturing or similar industries
