We have a new role open working with a well known Defence Technology company that research, develop, and supply technology and services that impact the lives of millions of people each day to make life better, and keep us all safer.
The company work in a range of major industries including Aerospace, Defence, Transportation, Security and even projects in Space.

The Role:

Due to continued succesful project completion and expansion with more new customers we need an experienced Systems Engineer with a background in Integration, Verification and Validation. This role would also offer the opportunity to manage a small team in a dynamic test environment.

In this position you will ensure that Integration is at the forefront of IV&V activities, with a focus on removing defects at an early stage within the development process, thereby reducing non-quality costs and improving the entire end-to-end IV&V process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Influence the end-to- end development programme of allocated projects by deriving a risk-based integration strategy i.e. one where the highest technical risks are driven out via early integration within the overall system solution.
• Write and agree the Integration strategy with other key project stakeholders, tailoring the standard IV&V process to meet the needs of the project & Integration Plans
• Manage the writing & execution of Integration test scripts
• Review Integration aspects across the whole of the allocated project - not just at System level - to ensure integration is being conducted in the most efficient manner possible
• Manage Defects on allocated project such that integration and verification risk is driven out as early as possible within the development programme
• Demonstrate year-on-year efficiency improvements within the IV&V discipline
• Engage with other IVV&V discipline leads to constantly improve IV&V process and tooling across the AOW business
• Propose improvements to IV&V tools and processes

Skills:

• Good working knowledge of test tools (including automated test tools desireable) and test data generation techniques
• To have a good working knowledge of DOOR

Experience:

Proven experience in a Systems Engineering role, with demonstrable, practical experience of planning & managing Integration on complex software-centric projects in a UK Defence environment.
