Technical Service Manager

Permanent position

2 Location Available - Worcester or Sandwell

Salary £51,500- £56,500 + Car Allowance + Benefits.

Brief

As a Technical Service Manager you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of maintenance services within a world leading construction and energy organisation. As a key leader, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating labor, subcontractors, and maintenance services. You will be responsible for the technical performance and maintenance of standards on the contract.

What the role entails as a Technical Service Manager:

Management of Labor and Sub-contractors:

  • Coordinate directly employed labor and subcontractors in responding to breakdowns and implementing Planned Preventative Maintenance Systems.
  • Undertake negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers to provide cost-effective services in line with contract SLAs.

Maintenance:

  • Provide technical assurance advice across maintenance services.
  • Maintain records of relevant plant and equipment for technical performance.

Leadership and Relationship Management:

  • Set objectives, appraise staff, and positively manage relationships with stakeholders and Trust representatives.
  • Regularly meet with staff, subcontractors, and suppliers to discuss performance.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure the safety of plant, equipment, and infrastructure.
  • Attend and lead Health & Safety forums, reporting any unsafe conditions through the company AIMS system.

Training and Development:

  • Deliver training to staff on relevant subjects, including toolbox talks and trade-specific matters.
  • Support in achieving Authorised Person (AP) status in various disciplines as directed by Senior Management.

Budgetary Control:

  • Support in producing relevant statistics for maintaining budgetary control.

Qualifications and Required Experience for a Technical Service Manager:

  • Mechanical experience within a Healthcare environment - Desirable.
  • 3 years post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in risk management and health and safety.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and industry guidelines.
  • ONC or BTEC NVQ Level 3 in a relevant discipline.
  • Authorised Person qualified to Health Technical Memoranda (HTM) Standard.
  • High level of verbal, written, and numeric skills.
  • Computer literate with good IT skills.
  • GCSE/O Level Mathematics and English or equivalent.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.
  • Effective communication and delegation skills in a multi-disciplinary environment.
