Analyst / Relationship Manager (Real Estate Banking), Central London

c£35,000 - c£50,000 + Bonus, Pension and Health Care

Our client is experiencing a period of growth and currently looking to hire an Analyst from within one of the major loan servicing teams or perhaps a Relationship Manager who is keen to transition their skills across in to a more technical role.

The Role

We envisage the new hire working predominantly on the existing lending portfolio specifically managing the quarterly reporting process and reviewing new deal finance documents. The candidate will work alongside and support the wider team and therefore gain significant exposure to debt financing on the lending side as well as the ongoing management of the transactions through Iken Loan Servicing.

Responsibilities

The new hire will be allocated a handful of existing deals where they will partner up with senior management to:

  • Ensure each loan is managed in line with the requirements of the Facility Agreement by following and implementing processes as required
  • Liaise with underlying borrowers to ensure that all quarterly reporting has been received on a timely basis and that the loan is compliant
  • Prepare quarterly reporting to the senior lender based on the information collected at the underlying borrower level
  • Draft Investor reporting for senior management to authorise before release. This will require consolidation of both underlying borrower and senior debt reports
  • Lead the Bank account opening process for each new underlying loan. Candidate will be the Bank's primary contact throughout the closing process
  • Manage the underlying borrower Capex drawdown process by reviewing utilisation requests and instructing movement of funds from Senior Lender
  • Between reporting periods responsibilities will include day-to-day management of the loans including consent requests, bank transfer payments, covenant compliance and issuing billing notices
  • Build relationships with other departments within the business including Asset Management, Finance, Legal and Compliance
  • Manage third party workstreams including instruction of valuations, legal reviews, quantity surveyor reports and assist with external audit queries.

Essential Skills/Qualities

  • 12 - 18 months experience in Loan Servicing or Real Estate Banking
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent numerical skills
  • Significant experience in dealing with a high volume workflow and prioritising accordingly
  • Independent, personable, collaborative/teamwork player, self-motivated and entrepreneurial
  • Strong work ethic and commitment; ability to perform under deadline pressure
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Genuine and demonstrable interest in debt finance, investment and real estate
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience of working with third parties
