B1 Licensed Aircraft Engineer

Brief

A B1 Licensed Aircraft Engineer is needed for a respected and highly reputable Aerospace firm based in Gatwick who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded B1 Licensed Aircraft Engineer that takes pride in their work and experience with base maintenance, experience with the 737/787 and a live B1 EASA License.

What the role entails:

Some of the main duties of the B1 Licensed Aircraft Engineer will include:

  • Supervise a team of Mechanics performing Base Maintenance and Structural modifications on customer aircraft.
    * Inspection and certification of Structural Modifications/Repairs, scheduled maintenance tasks, defect rectification and functional tests.
    * Complete all assigned work in a timely manner to optimize aircraft downtime.
    * Ensure aircraft technical log book, maintenance documentation, work packages and zonal handovers are completed accurately and within prescribed timescales.
    * Ensure compliance with company, regulatory and health and safety requirements.
    * Report all incidents and occurrences and make accurate records in the Boeing Safety Management System.
    * Highlight any technical issues, discrepancies or other issues to the Lead Engineer.
    * Support the Lead Engineer with the day to day running of a Structural Modification Zone and deputise during periods of absence.
    * Undertake any reasonable activities as required, including working away from London Gatwick.

What experience you need to be the successful B1 Licensed Aircraft Engineer:

  • Hold a valid EASA and/or UK CAA Category B1 Part-66 Aircraft Maintenance Licence.
    * Type ratings on the following aircraft:
    Boeing 737 NG and 787 (essential).
    Boeing 737 Max and 777 (desirable).
    * Must have a minimum of 7 years' experience as a certifying engineer of which 2 years is in a Base Maintenance environment.
    * Extensive experience performing Structural Modifications/Repairs on Boeing Aircraft.
    * Have prior experience of accessing on-line Boeing documents through MyBoeingFleet with proficiency interpreting engineering drawings and utilising the SRM.
    * Previous experience of using AMOS.
    * Be a team player who will grasp opportunities to exceed the expectations of internal and external customers.
    * Proven knowledge and proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint and the ability to learn in house systems.
    * Candidates must have the right to live and work in United Kingdom.
