Job Title: Commercial Contracts Manager

Job Description:
- To take the lead on commercial aspects in key tenders, preparing quotations, contracts, contractual agreements and negotiations.
- To provide Commercial management throughout the lifecycle of the contracts from receipt of enquiry until receipt of final payment from the customer and close-down activities.
- To ensure compliance with international trade compliance laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and prepare responses to customer enquiries and Invitations to Tender.
- Negotiate prime contracts with UK/overseas commercial customers and with UK Ministry of Defence (MoD).
- Maximise opportunities within payment plans to maintain/improve working capital when negotiating contract terms.
- Advise Purchasing Department on the flow-down of contract conditions to sub-contractors.
- Advise Programme Managers on all contractual aspects and provide assistance to ensure cost effective delivery of programmes.
- Advise and support project team on all contractual matters to meet delivery timescales
- Draft contract documentation and agreements of a contractual nature (joint venture, partnership, confidentiality, consultancy, software licences, etc).
- Proactively support trade compliance, import/export activities to ensure compliance with international trade compliance laws, regulations and controls, including UK, EU and US (ITAR / EAR).
- Co-ordinate with freight forwarders to clear goods for import and export with all supporting paperwork.
- Manage licenses and agreements with government regulators, as appropriate, and keep all registrations up to date as required by regulations.
- Provide support and advice to ensure products are classified correctly for export and import in accordance with UK and US regulations (as applicable).
- Liaise with customers at all levels in relation to existing and new business, including terms & conditions, contracts, proposals, invoicing.
- Invoicing and payment in conjunction with Finance Department.
- Mitigation of contractual financial liabilities.
- Protection of company cash-flow position.
- Demonstrate and adhere to the ASPIRE values at all times.
- Carry out any other duties as reasonably required by Management.
- Encourage the sharing and retention of knowledge and experience within the business through effective mentoring of team members and colleagues.
Required:
- Previous experience within commercial setting, maybe looking to step-up to next level of career.
- Experience of contract negotiation and the commercial management of supply contracts, post design services, integrated logistics support and installation for both UK and overseas customers.
- Demonstrable contract management experience.
- Knowledge of industrial/commercial conditions of contract and procedures.
- Ideally experience of working with MoD contract conditions and MoD procedures.
- Experience in and good working knowledge of all relevant export and import regulations for civil, dual-use and military products especially UK, US (ITAR / EAR) and EU regulations.
- Sound commercial awareness.

Qualifications:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- IACCM qualified (or working towards) or equivalent.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of documentary credits and bank guarantees.
- Experience of mentoring, developing and leading other team members.
