Brief
Highway Design Engineers needed for a British multinational infrastructure organisation based in
Southampton who are looking to employ a number of experienced and well-rounded
Highway Design Engineers starting off on a 12-month FTC with view to extend. My client is looking or candidates that takes pride in their work with proven experience utilising software including AutoCad and BIM (Building Information Modelling)

What the role entails:
Some of the main duties of the Highway Design Engineer will include:
- Being responsible for the technical delivery of design works for allocated projects
- Manage other team members working on allocated projects
- Liaise with internal BBLP teams (including Project Management, Delivery, Asset Management, Communications) in developing designs and project delivery.
- Prepare programme information for design projects and liaise with project managers and the programme coordinator to incorporate this information in project and the integrated programme.
- Prepare estimates of level of design input for projects
What experience you need to be the successful Highway Design Engineer:
- Proven Experience utilising software including AutoCad and BIM (Building Information Modelling)
- Experience and understanding of on and off the public highway on construction sites.
- Experience of NEC Option 3 contract type
- Experience and understanding of CDM regulations, and risk.
- PC Literate and knowledge of MS suite i.e. Word, Excel, Project etc.
- Good forward planner
- Design or technical background
- Good knowledge of all aspects of a construction project
