Highway Supervisor needed for a leading highways service provider based in the Braintree area who are looking to employ an experienced and knowledgeable Highway Supervisor to deliver the routine maintenance work, winter maintenance and emergency response activity on the Essex Highways.

What the role entails:

As a Highways Supervisor you will be responsible for:

• Routine maintenance works
• Winter maintenance works
• Emergency response activities (standby duty required)
• To supervise the operational teams in line with productivity, health and safety and quality targets and to produce weekly costs and value using bespoke software
• To monitor the skills and experience of operatives within the teams and work with Area Manager to plan training and development
• To work closely with the Plant and Fleet Department to manage the vehicle and equipment assets at best efficiency. It is the Supervisors responsibility to reduce vehicle damage incidents and promote a culture of valuing the company's assets
• To actively promote and use the bespoke software available to deliver the service requirements

What experience you need to be a successful Highway Supervisor:

• SSSTS
• SMSTS
• Street works supervisor qualification or Highway sector scheme accreditation
• Proven experience in a similar role
• Highway Maintenance
• Traffic Management
• Vehicle Restraint Systems (VRS)
• Managing a team of engineers
• Health and Safety
