IT Support Engineer needed for a leading telecoms company based in London. Our client is leading the way in being a full fibre broadband provider, they are offering a great package and are excited to grow there business with the IT Support Engineer role.
The successful IT Support Engineer would desirably be educated to degree level, or equivalent professional/vocational qualification. Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate working in a team whilst having had the opportunity to work on projects of your own. Having experience in supporting/mentoring other colleagues would also be a good attribute to possess. Being part of the IT team, as the IT Support Engineer you will be supporting the wider company across many aspects and therefore have the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines is crucial.
What the role of the IT Support Engineer entails:
Some of the main duties of the IT Support Engineer will include:
Build and install PCs (Windows and macOS), telephone systems, wireless networks and peripheral devices (such as printers, scanners, mobile/smart phones) related to desktop infrastructure, in accordance with department standards
Provide technical advice and guidance to colleagues regarding IT requests and incidents (on site and remote support)
Preparing the IT on boarding of new colleagues including ordering and tracking of company assets
Maintain installed PCs, networks, telephone systems and peripherals with routine maintenance.
Identify, log and resolve technical problems with software applications or network systems
Identify potential changes and system improvements to present to senior team leaders for consideration and implementation
Maintain ticketing system with up-to-date solutions and clear record of activities
What experience you need to be the successful IT Support Engineer:
IT Technical Support and Troubleshooting experience
Office 365 suite experience and Windows Server products and/or Apple Operating Systems.
Desirable:
Understanding of WIFI and LAN networking
Sharepoint working knowledge
Ability to work in a team, ability to triage support cases and prioritise projects
Excellent customer service, communications skills, problem-solving
