Metal Work: Letter Maker
Salary: £29,000 - £30,000 per annum + overtime
Overtime: Paid at 1.5 times the standard hourly rate
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Breaks: 2 x 15-minute breaks, 1 x 30-minute break
Annual Leave: 29 days including Bank Holidays
Job Summary:
Join our dynamic fabrication team as a Letter Maker, where you will craft formed built-up letters, logos, and shapes from technical drawings. This role involves precise cutting, folding, and bending of sheet metal to meet design specifications, alongside tasks like soldering, letter cleaning, washing, measurement reading, and material handling within the factory.
Metal Work: Letter Maker Key Requirements:
- Experience: Proven experience in letter making within the signage industry.
- Skills: Strong technical and mathematical skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings.
- Health & Safety: Knowledge of health and safety practices.
- Tools: Proficiency in using soldering equipment, hand power tools, hand rollers, and guillotines.
- Physical Ability: Excellent hand-eye coordination and the ability to lift and carry sheet metal.
- Additional Skills: TIG welding and CNC guillotine machinery experience is advantageous.
Essential Duties:
- Follow instructions from the department supervisor.
- Work independently or as part of a team.
- Operate various handheld and battery-powered tools.
- Ensure production quality aligns with company standards and customer timelines.
- Maintain adherence to quality standards and processes.
- Comply with health and safety guidelines for a safe working environment.
- Assist in the maintenance of departmental machines and equipment.
- Handle large items, requiring good mobility and spatial awareness.
- Maintain general housekeeping within the department.
