Systems Engineer
£54 - 64 per hour INSIDE IR35
Systems Engineer needed for a leading defence engineering organisation based in Bedford, in a fully remote capacity, with an onsite presence, when necessary, to join their growing team. The Systems Engineer will utilise their skills and experience in order to design, integrate and deliver real systems, operating at the core of an expanding team driving technical direction and developing junior staff.
The successful Systems Engineer would ideally be educated to degree level, or hold an equivalent professional/vocational qualification. Demonstrable knowledge and experience designing and integrating Complex Systems with a significant Software component is highly desirable along with experience in the defence and/or aerospace sector.
Some of the main duties of the Systems Engineer will include:
- Delivering and managing Systems Engineering activities within one or more areas relating to Radar Systems, Weapon Systems, Tactical Datalink, RF Data, and Military Communications.
- Own and co-ordinate the Systems Engineering activities across the business area
- Liaising with interfacing functions, Suppliers and Customers,
- Delivering compliant products on-time and to schedule.
What experience you need to be the successful Systems Engineer:
- Experience of systems engineering lifecycle through the life of a large-scale systems development programme, ideally in the Command & Control domain
- Experience in the Verification and Validation lifecycle
- Development of Verification & Acceptance (V&A) statements
- Knowledge of Comms & RF Network Architectures
- Change proposal assessment and embodiment
- Working understanding of relevant Def-Stan, MIL-STD and industry best practice
- Understand nuances of system limitations and behaviours at system level.
