Brief
Traffic Engineer needed to join an award-winning and multi-disciplinary design and engineering organization, who provide expert and sustainable services for local authority and private sector clients, to come on board and join the team in London. As a Traffic Engineer, you will provide technical support for a wide range of project types, including; designing of traffic, cycling and public transport schemes.
It's desirable for the successful candidate to hold the relevant degree in Engineering, or another relevant discipline, and a minimum of two years of experience a Traffic Engineer.
What the role entails:
Some of the main duties of the Traffic Engineer will include:
- Projects will involve the designing of traffic, cycling, walking and public transport schemes which could be covering junctions, routes, corridors or other areas.
- Projects may be undertaken at various stages depending upon the specification/brief (outline / feasibility / preliminary / detailed design)
- Ability to develop traffic and highway schemes from inception.
- providing technical support for a wide range of project types and consultancy commissions.
- Depending on experience, you may be responsible for managing the delivery of projects, including leading on the financial management and delivery to agreed outputs and timeframes. Equally, checking the output produced by more junior staff in terms of reports and drawings etc.
What experience you need to be the successful Traffic Engineer:
- A minimum experience of 2 years for a Traffic Engineer or 5 years for a Senior Engineer
- Relevant degree or HND/ HNC (preferably in engineering/ geography) or equivalent qualifications
- Expertise in highways related AutoCAD design is desirable.
- Working knowledge of DMRB, Highways Acts, RTRA 1984, RTAs, TSRGD 2016, Traffic Signs Manual and relevant British Standards.
- Familiarity with Traffic Management Act (TMA) 2004.
