The Role:
We are seeking a motivated and versatile Development Engineer to join our dedicated team supporting the design, development, and testing of electrical, electronic, and electromechanical systems. The successful candidate will work closely with project and team members to deliver high-quality solutions, contributing to the successful completion of projects and development objectives.
Key Responsibilities as an Electronics Development Engineer:
- Design and develop system test suites.
- Conduct development and qualification testing.
- Perform schematic design and design capture.
- Provide component selection guidance, advice, and review.
- Undertake laboratory testing and hands-on development tasks.
- Support project and business engineering activities as required.
- Document work and activities in line with company procedures.
- Participate in internal and external meetings.
- Occasionally support on-site commissioning or trial activities, including potential overseas travel.
Skills & Knowledge as an Electronics Development Engineer:
- Experience in live testing of low voltage (<1000V) electronic or electrical equipment.
- Understanding of Health and Safety regulations and safe working practices.
- Desirable: experience in digital and analogue circuit design.
- Desirable: knowledge of software methodologies and programming skills.
- Flexible, hands-on approach with willingness to undertake a variety of engineering tasks.
- Ability to organise and support verification testing and qualification test programmes (EMC, shock, vibration, climatic).
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to present ideas clearly and concisely to stakeholders.
- Broad general engineering skills covering systems engineering, safety, and configuration control.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Excellent organisational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Motivated to learn, develop, and innovate in a dynamic environment.
- Adaptable, proactive, and able to respond positively to change.
