Job Title: Product Safety Engineer - Defence Industry - Permanent - Bristol or Portsmouth with Hybrid working.
£45,000 - £55,000
SC Clearance eligibility required (typically a UK Passport holder).
We have a new role open for a Product Safety Engineer to join our client's team in Bristol or Portsmouth. This company is a major name in the Defence industry and are looking for someone who can bring their expertise to help them design and develop safe and compliant products.
We are open to people that have a couple of years practical Safety Engineering experience upwards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize knowledge of Product Safety Analysis techniques such as HazID, Risk mitigation, assessment, and safety assurance strategies to ensure the safety of our products
- Participate in the product design certification process from a product safety and compliance perspective
- Work with the engineering team to implement safety requirements in the product development process
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure the safety of our products throughout the entire product lifecycle
Qualifications:
- Engineering Degree or equivalent Safety Engineering work experience
- Experience in working within the Defence, Oil and Gas or Nuclear industry or other highly regulated industries
Desirable:
- Experience using a model-based systems approach for Safety
- Understanding of Safety Standards (Def-stan 00:56)
- Understanding of the general process for product design certification from a product safety and compliance perspective
