An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor with a background in new build and refurbishment projects to join a driven, forward thinking and established cost consultancy in Central London.
The Quantity Surveyor will join their growing team in London and be responsible for the full life cycle of projects within the commercial, education, healthcare, industrial, retail and residential sectors. With projects varying in value from £20m to £200m, the successful Quantity Surveyor will be involved with the project through the full life cycle - from feasibility through to settlement of final accounts.
Responsibilities
- Preparing accurate cost estimates based on drawings and specifications
- Assist throughout the tendering process, conducting tender evaluations and providing recommendations
- Manage projet costs throughout the construction phase
- Manage the procurement process for materials, equipment and subcontractors
- Administer construction contracts including reviewing of contract documentation
- Identify potential risks and opportunities
- Prepare regular cost reports for clients
- Prepare and negotiate final accounts with contractors
- Assist in resolving disputes or claims
- Provide commercial support and guidance to junior membes of the team
Candidate
- Recently completed or working towards full RICS membership
- Proven track record of commercial management for a PQS in the UK
- Good commercial awareness and contract knowledge
- Hold a construction related degree, post grad. diploma, HNC or similar
- Excellent communication skills
