The Role
As a Senior Nuclear Safety Consultant, you will play a key role in leading the development of safety cases and safety justification strategies. You'll work collaboratively with clients, regulators, and partner organisations to deliver high-quality safety solutions and provide trusted advice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead nuclear safety justification strategies.
- Undertake detailed hazard and risk analyses, including deterministic, probabilistic and severe accident assessments.
- Derive and demonstrate compliance with nuclear safety requirements.
- Develop safety cases, risk management plans, and perform independent safety assurance reviews.
- Lead periodic safety reviews of systems and facilities.
- Liaise effectively with regulators and stakeholders.
- Support, mentor and develop junior team members.
About You
You'll bring a deep understanding of nuclear safety principles and proven experience in delivering safety documentation and analysis for complex nuclear systems or facilities.
Essential Requirements:
- Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant technical discipline.
- Demonstrable experience in nuclear safety case development.
- In-depth knowledge of Nuclear Site Licence Conditions and/or Authorising Conditions.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- UK national with eligibility to obtain security clearance.
Desirable:
- Chartered Engineer status (CEng) with the UK Engineering Council. (not essential)
- Previous consultancy experience.
