We have a unique new vacancy for a Safety Manager to lead an existing Safety team on a range of state-of-the-art defence projects and marine systems.

Main responsibilities:
Manage safety activities on multiple programmes
Head up safety participation in Programme risk reviews, anticipate problems, support decision making
Lead the improvement of safety engineering methods / tools / processes and procedures used across Programmes
Review and approve all Safety Engineering deliverables across programmes

Experience

Familiar with the safety requirements of BS EN 61508 and understanding of SIL analysis
Experienced in safety/reliability analysis techniques
Hazard identification and analysis, FMECA, FTA, Reliability Block Diagrams
Able to relate to a multi-disciplinary team of systems engineers, hardware engineers, software and ILS engineers, project managers, customers and suppliers own engineering consultants)
Understand hardware / software failure modes and causes and effects
Safety requirements capture
Validation and Verification processes
Relevant work experience in a Defence safety-related engineering environment
Demonstrating compliance to international standards
Safety assurance of COTS PE systems and software based products
Experience of Team and People Leadership management with strong, clear communication skills at all levels.
