Managing Quantity Surveyor
Central London

I have an exciting opportunity for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join a large, well established and busy infrastructure contractor at their offices in Central London. The Managing Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for supporting the Commercial lead in managing the commercial delivery of a £35m+ portfolio of work with clients including National Grid, SSE & UKPN.

As the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you'll be tasked with developing a team of 8 to 10 Quantity Surveyors from Assistants through to Seniors. Alongside assisting with the development of your team and acting as a mentor, you'll also be involved with:

  • Identifying & managing project risks
  • Ensuring there's a margin improvement plan on all projects
  • Handling client disputes
  • Implement a commercial strategy
  • Analyse and challenge cost value reports & forecasts
  • Providing commercial and contractual advice to clients, colleagues and others

Managing Quantity Surveyors considering this opportunity must have experience of working for a main contractor and familiar with the duties associated with running a small team of staff. Your project experience must include major civil engineering programmes. Candidates with experience in the power sector will be at an advantage. You'll also need to have a degree or HNC in a relevant subject.
