We are looking for a Senior Design Manager to join a leading main contractor delivering a variety of civils projects across the West Midlands. The Senior Design Manager will be joining my clients regional business and working on projects with build costs of £5m to £130m, typically including major highways projects and new structures across the region.

As the Senior Design manager, you will be working closely with a team of engineers, project managers and design managers on projects from start to finish. Your role will include taking a lead role in the development and implementation of design proposals, ensuring they meet the clients requirements. As a senior member of the team, you'll also be required to manage and develop other members of the design team, overseeing and checking drawings and ensuring that at each stage of the process, the programme matches the agreed specifications with the client. You'll also be required to work closely with all statutory authorities as required such as town planning, building control and utilities & services providers.

Senior Design Managers considering this opportunity must have previous experience working for a leading main contractor where they have gained exposure to large highways and civil engineering projects. You'll need excellent communication skills, strong bid and reporting writing skills and a good knowledge of various design tools.
